Verdant Source is the home of the Quantum Homesteader, a project about living well at the meeting point of clean technology and timeless wisdom.

We are based on the Mississippi River in Jacobson, Minnesota, in Ball Bluff Township, downriver from Lake Itasca, where the great river begins as a stream you can step across. From that beginning we explore the questions that shape a homestead: living water, natural rhythms, honest technology, good food, wild places, and the old knowledge that still works.

Why Quantum?

Allowing everything to flow, letting nature take its course. The tree that falls in the forest when no one is there. Is it silent? These are the quantum spaces.

Why Homestead?

We are all stewards of the Earth. The land, the water, the air, the community is all part of our home. We are all connected through the source. Our humanity stems from the source. The technology we humans created stems from the source. We cannot afford to lose our connection with the source. This is our homestead, the organic cultivated experiences and perspectives that connect us with all.
